Well, somebody’s got to do it. Those swirl marks and scratches you can only see at a certain angle in direct sunlight ain’t gonna make themselves, folks.

I go to one once a week during the winter.

Same here. There are no touch less washes around here, and I drive a decade old pickup that’s never spent a night indoors.

Me too. In the 25 years of driving I’ve done, exactly zero of my cars have ever been damaged by car washes.

I used to go a brush car wash as it was the only one in town, then a “Magic Mist” opened up on Transit that offered cheaper prices and the advantage of it being touchless.

Now I just go there instead.

This one doesn’t use any brushes! Clearly brushes can't be that bad then if they save you from this.

If I can’t do a full or proper wash then it stays dirty till I can get it done.

There are many places around me that do hand washes but most are just as bad in how they look after their equipment and stuff they use such as chamois which in itself I don’t recommend but they drop them on the gritty floor, shake them off and continue to dry the car.

My baby is pampered with degreasers, snow foams, antibacterial agents, sealants, coatings, etc... even my microfibre cloths are graded, washed in towel wash, drip dried, inspected and then shaken and then folded and put away.

You know they never clean the brushes right? They are packed with contaminants that will scratch the shit out of your clearcoat.

I go to whatever is cheap and readily accessible, on the few occasions that I wash my car. Which is like 3 times a year.

Me too. Well for my DD I do. But I also lay a pretty heavy coat of wax on it once in a while. And the local brush car wash is actually pretty good and well maintained. They do care about their machine and customers cars.

Oh. That. Posted when I machine washed the car on the Bimmerpost forums.

You can imagine how that went.

Me too. The local (brushed) car wash offers a $20 monthly pass that gives you unlimited washes each month. I couldn’t say no.
